Hymn

O Risen Lord, Once Perished One

Words: Ryan Daniel Cornett

Music: William H. Doane,

Tune: VISION

Meter: L.M. w/ Refrain

Stanza 1

O risen Lord, once perished One,
To whom I from the pit have flown,
Blood-watered ground yields heark'ning bloom;
Thy waking reckoned vain the tomb.

Refrain

Rise, now arise, O soul set free!
Death's sting no longer pierces thee.

Stanza 2

From sin's o'erwhelming barrows stirred,
My soul awakened at Thy word;
Thus 'tis for all Thy righteous dead:
The grave is but a borrowed bed.

Stanza 3

Hast Thou in drawing new life's breath,
Wrought for Thy saints the death of Death?
Yea we, as those in dust now lie,
Wait for Thy day when Death shall die.

Stanza 4

Lo! Rolled aside was death's cold stone,
Thou didst arise to life and throne;
So shall we spring to glory won
By Thee, O Lord, the Living One!
