Hymn
Through Tests and Trials
Words: Ryan Daniel Cornett
Music: William Arnold
Tune: ALEXANDRIA
Meter: C.M.
Stanza 1
Through tests and trials, I believe,
Lord, help my unbelief:
That in the darkness I'll perceive
Thy nearness in my grief.
Stanza 2
When field is bare and face is gaunt,
Twice-greeted are mine eyes
With vanity of all I want
And good Thy hand supplies.
Stanza 3
Though prayers that seem unanswered roll,
And night conceals Thine arm,
Thy unseen care preserves my soul,
Keeps safe from hidden harm.
Stanza 4
How bright the beams of joy to know
That on the darkest day,
Thy Son resolved through death to go
And light the Heav'nly way.
Stanza 5
Thus when the trial's shadow falls,
I shall not languish low;
'Tis then from stores in Heaven's halls
Thy blessings overflow.
