Hymn
You Are Wise in All Your Ways
Words: Ryan Daniel Cornett
Music: Ryan Daniel Cornett
Tune: BOLIN
Meter: 8.7.8.7.D.
Stanza 1
Where I see a leafless orchard,
You see trees prepared to flow'r;
When I see the cloudy tempest,
You see earth's reviving show'r.
Though I tremble at the darkness,
Night sends me to Your embrace;
Sheltered, trusting, I confess, Lord:
You are wise in all Your ways.
Stanza 2
Once the lonely seed is buried,
Life arises in the field;
Though the vines endure a pruning,
Richer then, the fruit they yield.
Since the tree is felled in season,
Warmth and comfort fill brief days;
Sov'reign, You ordain the ends, Lord:
You are wise in all Your ways.
Stanza 3
Where the autumn leaves have fallen,
Summer's bounty there is shared;
When I feel the frosts of winter,
You see ground for spring prepared.
As this failing body ages,
Still I rise through pain to praise;
Satisfied I wait for You, Lord:
You are wise in all Your ways.
About the song
