Hymn

The Fruit of Joy

Words: Ryan Daniel Cornett

Music: Anonymous

Tune: BINGHAM

Meter: C.M.

Stanza 1

The fruit of joy, in Heaven set,
Tastes ever sweet to me;
Its flavors make my soul forget
Old sorrows' dying tree.

Stanza 2

With thankfulness my healing balm,
And gratitude, my salve,
I'm soothed with blessed, peaceful calm,
Content in who I have.

Stanza 3

The daily bread from Heaven's grain
Will cheer my longing soul;
New morning mercies fall like rain
To make my spirit whole.

Stanza 4

By grace through this enduring faith,
With mirth I greet the day
And smile e'en when in paths of death,
For Jesus guides my way.

Stanza 5

My living Lord, my happiness,
Who called me from the night,
Is leading me to rapturous bliss
Of everlasting light.
